  2. Thanks Ascariss! It's awesome you got this out before anyone else on the web. But I much prefer the really high-end utilitarian design of the current Walkman X with the awesome granite finish on the edges. This design is way too mainstream and just 'Samsungy'. Also, the UI doesn't seemed to have changed much. I'll be sticking with my current X.

  6. I am waiting eagerly to buy a new high end walkman but i have to agree with jeremy, the A-series design do not look so good. X-series or the previous A-840,850 were better. Hope there is a new x-series coming otherwise i have to settle for the 64gb A867.

  7. Really interested in the 32gb or 64gb A-series. Hopefully sony prices these pretty reasonably. I saw the euro prices, but I'm hoping I can get the 32gb for 250 bucks. I have a feeling the 64gb will be mid 300 to 400 bucks so I already expect that to be out of my range unfortunately.

  8. ascariss - these photos show the a-series as non-NC players - any idea if there will be NC models as well?

  9. There will be NC models since the headphones tested on the FCC documents are NC headphones if I recall.

  10. The new A-series Walkman looks ordinary. Prefer the previous A850 or A840

  11. I like the look of the A-series. It's pretty nice. I have the A846 and can't really see a reason to upgrade (plus my wife has already told me 'No!'), but if I was looking for a nice new player, I'd be happy to pick the A-series.

  12. I can't wait, I need a new player to replace my old A818. I'm liking the S series as I have no need for a touchscreen and like the buttons on the front.

  13. Previous models always look nicer, than actual releases. Or maybe just i'm that retro typed. Anyway, thanks for sharing all the news and photos. Regards

  14. It looks pretty. It may even be the best Walkman. I wont get it though. My NWZ-E340 is the worst MP3 player I've ever had. It freezes or reboots randomly and gets scratched if you just look at it wrong. $100 for a $16GB MP3 player that reboots when it feels like it is too much. If I get a new MP3 player, I'm going back to Sansa.

  16. I would go for S-series with that fancy A-series amp, touchscreen does not make sense in dap, same goes for power hungry large screens (my s639 screen lights up everytime I fiddle with volume - what a waste of energy!), but will Sony listen? Of course not. I bought 16gb s639 when it was released, have no need to upgrade, battery life could be a bit better, but I'm ok with that. Anyway, disappointing refresh.

  17. No awards here for the design. A- series walkman looks ok at least better than the rest(its actualy repackeged x series ). S- series looks a bit downgraded from previous generations. chrome lining around the buttons gives it a very retro look as you see in first three generations.in fact it looks like the e460/450 packeged in better finish. s750 and s740 series are the sexiest walkmans we have seen so far and i also liked the a850.

  18. Sticking to my A847 for the time being as well.

I hope one day to be able to buy a Walkman with A82x style and 128GB memory.

The A82x style was just perfect!

  19. :-(

No 64/128GB, no buttons like on my X walkman.
    FAIL.
