Hello to anyone still reading, I apologize for no posts since October but I have been rather busy with classes. I was planning on posting my review of the NWZ-E575 which I purchased last December to replace my X-Series.
In short, yet the headphones from the new E work on my X, yes they are better than the headphones that came with the X and the E series is a nice surprise. I've been using it as my main Walkman since I bought it. So stay tuned for the full review, hopefully in February when I will have free time.
Good luck with your classes, and keep up the great work you do, keeping the Walkman spirit alive!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to the full review!
So just being curious, what's your other current Walkman? You mentioned that the E is your main Walkman these days. Cheers,
ReplyDeleteHey Ascariss, what happened to your Walkman X? I just bought a Walkman A845 on eBay, I've had my eye on it since it came out a couple of years ago and sadly Sony haven't produced such a beautiful Walkman since. Nothing wrong with my X at the moment but I think I'm starting to miss pressing actual tactile buttons after I got rid of my A729 for the X a few years back. I thought about getting a Z or the new F but I really don't like Android and Android just doesn't feel right for a Walkman. How does the NWZ E575 SQ compare to the X?
ReplyDeleteMy current walkman is the NWZ-E575, I still own the X-Series but rarely use it since the battery doesn't last that long on it anymore after 2 years of use.
ReplyDeleteThe SQ of the E is comparable to the X, but the X seems louder and more clearer I feel, it does have the S-Master amp after all.
I also thought about getting a Z or F series but I already have an android phone so not point in just buying another android device.
Good luck with your classes, it's the most important thing. I love that there are still Walkman people out there, as I am still one too. I still love my X, and wish I had not disposed of my minidisc player (spring cleaning), now that I've seen your more recent post, fond memories. I bought a F series for my wife, and the sound quality is awesome; while we both have android phones, you simply can't compete with the S-master, EQ manipulation, and overall quality of a sony walkman. That and neither one of us want to burn through our batteries on our phones; I still insist on a standalone music player, and that will always be a Walkman. Keep up the good work.

ReplyDeleteWhen you say those E-series headphones work on your X, do you mean the NC feature? If so, I would love to purchase the headphones separately just for that purchase, as my X headphones no longer work, am currently having to use the earbuds from my old A818. Is this designation correct for the headphones: MDR-NC033E ?
ReplyDeleteGuys, I just saw the F series on a 50%off sale at the US website ( http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666471639). It's out of stock now. Does this mean that Sony is already pulling the plug on the F? I certainly hope it's not!
ReplyDeleteHmm good question, the F series seems to have also disappeared from the Canadian sonystyle website as well. It is missing from the polish sony site but is still on the UK sony site, so perhaps sony is phasing out the F series slowly?
ReplyDelete@Faze, yes the headphones from the new E (E575) work on my X-Series, noise cancellation as well, so if you can find them as a separate item do pick them up. Yes MDR-NC033E is the model number.
It seems too short a stint for the F, doesn't it? Unless it's selling nothing, it doesn't make sensr to introduce a supposed flagship just to pull it out of the market after only a few months...
