Sony will be introducing an improved wearable Walkman in the near future. The WS-Series will feature NFC and Bluetooth which will permit its use as a wireless headset. In addition, the capacity has been bumped up substantially. While the current W270 tops out at 8GB, the new WS-Series will come in 4 and 16GB capacities, NWZ-WS613 (4GB), NWZ-WS615 (16GB). I am assuming the device will be water resistant like the current W-Series but have no confirmation on this. The confidentiality of the FCC documents ends in early September, so I would expect an IFA 2014 debut. As with most years, Sony seems to bring a new crop of Walkmans to IFA, so hopefully something new will debut apart from the WS-Series.
