Unlike the Sony US, Sony Canada has opted for the black version and not silver. And at $299 CAD, it is also cheaper when converting to USD. Expected arrival date is October 20th, so a little over a week from now. If anything, I will get my brother to buy the 64GB version in Canada and ship it over and I will sell the 16GB, but for the time being, still waiting for the new XBA headphones to appear.
I can't see it from the sony store for some reason :(
ReplyDeleteDo you know if options for 16gb and/or silver would be available?
Thanks and more power. Looking forward to your review

As far as I know, no 16gb model and only in black. Silver in 64gb will be sold in the US, I doubt North america will get the 16gb.
Can i know wen itz releasing in india..plzz
ReplyDeleteI gave up on Sony producing decent memory sized Walkmans for HiRes audio (the NZ1 is over £500 in the UK, to expensive to justify purchasing). I purchased an asian F887 64Gb version from Amazon, it was delivered from Hong Kong within 5 days of purchase and was £70 cheaper than the UK/European 32Gb model.

ReplyDeleteThe Good
ReplyDeleteSound, it is is exceptionally good. Very clear and detailed. Good battery life.
The Bad
The design could have been better.
To my previous complaint,
Re-formatting the card in player, and using storage for the File Transfer [SD Card Settings] (instead of via the card-readers) fixes the crashes and freezes problem. Apparently there were some errors on the card that were introduced during the transfers via the card reader. That caused the playback occasionally fail, even if it was from the system storage and not from the card itself. Strange as it may sound.
It works like a charm now (and I hope it continues).
So far the only major fault I have with the A17 is you cannot make a playlist that combines songs from both internal storage and the SD card. I have successfully created playlists, and when I open them in a text editor, the folder paths are correct, but the A17 simply will not display songs from the other memory (it picks one, probably from the first song on the list). This is a bummer.
ReplyDeleteWho sells this in Canada?
ReplyDeleteapart from Sony Canada online, Futureshop.ca also carries it but it appears to be sold out.
