The ZX300 was just announced at IFA 2017 yesterday and like the previous ZX100, it will be offered in the standard silver colour that is the metal it is made from. But it seems that Sony China may receive the ZX300 in black as well, dubbed ZX300A.
I found the photo on Sony China's IFA mini page, and while there is no specific mention of the colour black the photo does show a black version like in the YouTube video below. I have reached out to Sony to find out if the device is a China exclusive or will be offered in other countries. Personally I feel the black colour looks better and more premium versus the silver but what is everyone else's thoughts? Black or silver?
I would have to see them in real life to judge. I'm still trying to convince myself that the asking price is justified. I need a new Walkman and while the A40 would be enough for me, it looks more like a trendy device for the masses that misses the 'dedicated' feel.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that the black colour option will only be for selected countries (China among others). Sadly enough, there are no black zX300 pictures on any western countries' websites. On head-fi people were already excited about the beautiful black colour option (more pics: http://www.phileweb.com/interview/article/201709/01/483.html ), but it seems Sony has teased them only to let them down.
ReplyDeleteI feel the black could be Asia only, Sony has not gotten back to me regarding where it will be sold.
DeleteMany will be disappointed if it is.
DeleteBoth colours are classy and should be offered everywhere.
ReplyDeleteThe Amazon UK 15 September shipment of the NW ZX300 did not happen. No info on actual delivery dates. UK Sony shops quoting 9th October for availability.
ReplyDeleteZX300 is named as ZX300A because it is a 16gb internal storage model. Both silver and black are avaliable with a pricing at 2999RMB(about 458 USD)
ReplyDeleteCorrection:ZX300 is named as ZX300A in China(I am Chinese btw)
