Another pair was revealed by the FCC, the Sony WH-CH510. The design has changed into a more rounded and softer look than the previous model the WH-CH500. Almost everything has changed in design apart from maybe the ear cushions but this is difficult to tell from the FCC photos.
Specifications have also changed, Bluetooth is now 5.0 from 4.2, battery life is up to 35 hours vs 20 hours previously, but time to full recharge remains at 4.5 hours. A 10 min recharge yields 90 min of playback, something not present on the previous model. The reference manual lacks any NFC logo, and it also seems to be missing from the actual headset, so I feel this feature might be left out. Maybe Sony will keep NFC for higher end model only going forward.
The internal code is the HDX-2936 and the SoC used is the RTL8763b. The SoC provides BT 5.0, USB type C audio and High RES audio, but this will not be offered here just like previously. I feel we are looking again at an IFA 2019 reveal. Pricing wise, I would imagine they will stay the same, $59.00 USD or 59 Euros, hopefully.
