Last month, I posted the FCC documents revealing the design of the WI-XB400, and now a new document has come to my attention which contains a nice schematic view of the upcoming wireless headset from Sony. The PDF, link can be found here, has also confirms the internal code, HDX-2937. I have cut out and cleaned up parts of the design here in this post, but for the full PDF, please visit the link above.
While the FCC documents show the real world design, these schematic photos do provide more details and even dimensions for those interested. In addition to the new documents, the WI-XB400 has appeared on a retailers website. The store, Adorama, has no photos yet but does provide a price, $59.99 (1, 2). It looks like it will come in 2 colour options, at least in the US, black and blue.
As a quick side note, the WH-CH510, again revealed last month by the FCC docs, will also retail for $59,99. I suspect that both of these headsets will launch at IFA 2019 or will appear on Sony's website in a just before the show. Regardless of when these will launch, both should offer a nice option for affordable wireless headsets with Bluetooth 5.0 and USB type C.
