Sony HDX-2944 certified on Bluetook SIG

Sony HDX-2944

Another Sony device has appeared on Bluetooth SIG, the HDX-2944. Unlike the HDX-2947, the HDX-2944 is using the MT2811 Bluetooth chip found in the WF-1000XM3. Therefore, this could end up being either the WF-SP800N or the WF-XB700 in my opinion.

How do I know this is using the MT2811? Well one of the combined designs, 124814, shows the  AB15abx, MT28abx; the unknown chipset I wrote about last year that we now know to be the MT2811/AB155x.

This could also be the WH-1000XM4 if Sony ends up using the MT2811 as its Bluetooth chip but that is unknown for now. All we know for now is it will be using a Mediatek chip according to the FCC report.

Not much else can be inferred from Bluetooth certification, but the appearance does mean a release is coming soon. It will be interesting if other devices show up over the next few days or weeks.
