Sony's WF-1000XM3 has been discounted on Amazon.co.uk. The truly wireless headset normally retails at £220/249€, but now it is available for less than £170/210€. The deal is only for a limited time, so if anyone has been holding out, now is a good time to grab these.
For those wondering if the discount is signaling a new model is coming, there are no solid details yet, but rumours are Sony wants the WF-1000XM4 out by the holiday season this year in December, and with low bitrate LDAC. Whether that means 330 or 660 kbps is unknown, but in a Soundguys article, it seems 330 offers worse quality than SBC, so not sure if adding LDAC is worth it. Personally I would rather Sony add a bigger battery and larger drivers than trying to add LDAC.
If the December 2020 date is true, then we might see an IFA 2020 introduction with a possible FCC filing in July or August.
So for those current owners and anyone holding out, what would you like to see in the new model?
I'd also like to see a longer battery life
