These were sent to me from an anonymous user. They are still from a promotional video, same as the leaked one from Youtube but in higher quality. Also anyone know a good places to upload a video to? Preferably not Youtube. Click on the photos for full size. Enjoy
Videos - First video is the same one leaked before but in 720p, the other 2 are what I received from anonymous source.
That‘s great and all but what about multipoint / connecting more than one device at a time?
ReplyDeleteSame QN1 chip. :/
ReplyDeleteSimilar pattern to MDR-1000X and WH-1000XM2, those shared the S-Master HX amp, so natural for Sony to re-use the QN1 which was developed for the XM3, and still quite a powerful and amazing chip.
DeleteNo information about low latency. :(
ReplyDeleteOnly codec support will be AAC, SBC and LDAC, so no low latency like in aptx unfortunate but perhaps there will be a low latency LDAC codec in the future.

ReplyDeletea question the headphones are also prepared for the conditions to exercise,
I could use the 9gag or reddit pages to upload the video :)
I want to use them to watch movies on my phone, on my computer and on TV and to play games. Low latency is really important. Come on SONY!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother interesting takeaway is that in the pictures we can see "April 21st, 2020" date. Maybe these headphones were supposed to be released then but COVID19 struck?
ReplyDeleteHow do they solve audio latency without aptx adaptive?
ReplyDeleteSony? at this point no idea, but here is a good article about latency and codecs
Deletehttps://www.soundguys.com/understanding-bluetooth-codecs-15352/
and also latency test on wh-1000xm3, seems like ldac is slightly worse than aptx, but aptx-LL (older version) is the best, but even with line out from the headphones, there is still some latency, but I don't think anyone would notice it. Btw like the article states, LDAC is geared towards higher quality music delivery rather than for watching videos or gaming from pc/phone.

No aptx adaptive, No LDAC low latency! :/
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell are they thinking about at Sony! The headphones should be universal even for watching movies and playing games!
I agree, they should have a proper low latency codec but most if not all of Sony's headphones and headsets are geared toward music and music quality, where audio latency is not important but the quality. If you want a wireless headset for gaming and movies, this is not the headset for you.
DeleteI want headphones mostly for music, but I would also like to watch movies or play games on them from time to time. The Sony WH 1000XM4 should be universal.
DeleteIn the video, the headband looks smaller than in the leaked video. But that's good.
ReplyDeleteThe headphone is showing up on Amazon France. It has an availability date of Aug 7th. Let's hope this is accurate!
ReplyDeletethanks for that, updated the post with the information below.
