Unfortunately no function or battery improvements this time around, which sucks. The battery life is not horrible on the ZX500 but the older NW-ZX2 was also on Android (4.2) and had superior battery life even with a larger (4in) screen. Yes the ZX2 has a larger battery (1860mAh) versus the ZX500 (1500mAh) but I suspect the newer ZX500 has more power hungry components inside or the newest version of Android is more power hungry compared to the older 4.2 version.
I am curious what type of battery life numbers users are getting on their A and ZX Walkmans. Please post your numbers in the comments below with what settings were used.

I've been using the A100 for over a year now, I get around 11-15 hours use on average. I tend to use flac (varying) and mp3 (320). I try to minimize the screen on time as much as possible and lower the brightness as much as I can. If I listen to more flac versus mp3, I am closer to 10-11 hours.
ReplyDeleteBattery life for my A105 is approx 10 hrs on a mixture of streaming MP3 and playing CD quality flac in the music app. Worst battery life I've ever had on a music player.
