New firmware has been released by Sony for the WF-1000XM4. Lots of users on reddit have been reporting a weird problem where the noise cancellation would cut off. Not sure if this was also that "woosh" issue but from what I have read on reddit, this update seems to fix that issue.
Benefits and Improvements
- Improves Bluetooth connection stability
- Fixes an issue where the Noise Canceling function or Ambient Sound Mode is momentarily interrupted
- Improves other functions
This update also includes the previous Bluetooth connection stability improvements from the 1.1.5 update.
I find it rather odd that these issues were not discovered during pre-production testing. I mean even if only a 100 people got to test the device before release, at least one of them had to find this issue right? Perhaps they did, and Sony brushed it off as defective unit? Regardless, the amount of people experiencing this issue on reddit after the release of the headset was alarming. Issues like this should have been caught during pre-production testing, since I suspect some of those experiencing this problem returned the headset and bought another brand.
The upside is that Sony actually decided to address and fix this issue, since at the start I remember users being brushed off by Sony on their support forums.
