Even though the WF-1000XM5 release coming soon, Sony is still updating the WF-1000XM4. A new firmware has been released, version 2.0.1.
The firmware fixes an issue with speak-to-chat, specifically:
- Fixes an issue where music does not resume automatically when the Speak-to-Chat mode ends
I do not use speak-to-chat, so I have not encountered this issue, myself, but I am also still on firmware version 1.5.0.
The firmware update includes all past updates as well:
- Allows you to simultaneously connect 2 devices to the headphones
- Reduces the burden on the battery
- Reduces the loss of battery capacity due to long-term use
- Improves the stability of music playback
- Improves call voice quality
- Improves general performance
- Improves the stability of Bluetooth connection and music playback
- Enhances other functions to improve general performance
- Improves Bluetooth connection stability
- Fixes an issue where the Noise Canceling function or Ambient Sound Mode is momentarily interrupted
- Improves other functions
It is great to see Sony still updating the WF-1000XM4, shame that it will not get the LE Audio update, but that was expected. So if you do not want to wait for the WF-1000XM5 and want to grab a cheaper WF-1000XM4, there are some discounts on Amazon right now.

Well i learned one thing in my life, do not update when is coming a new model, There's a possibility that new firmware will downgrade old device, so that later it seemed that the new model is better than the old one...
