Should Sony release the WF-1000XM4 in white?
Sony's upcoming WF-1000XM4 leaked earlier this week, the colour options were not a surprise, black and silver, following the WF-1000XM3 and last year's WH-1000XM4.
With Sony announcing the limited edition Silent White colour option for the WH-1000XM4, it got me thinking, should Sony release a white colour option for the WF-1000XM4?
Looking at the competition, Apple's Airpods Pro obviously come in white, Bose has an off white colour option for their QuietComfort Earbuds, called Soapstone, but Samsung's Galaxy Buds Pro only feature a Phantom Silver option.
I took the liberty of mocking up the a white version of the WF-1000XM4, using the Silent White WH-1000XM4 as a reference.
So should Sony offer such a colour option in the future? Should it be a limited edition or would people want this as part of the regular line up? If offered as a limited edition like the WH-1000XM4 Silent White, would you be willing to pay more for such a model? Post your thoughts below.
Absolutely!!
ReplyDeleteYes Sony should do whatever it takes to win over Airpods Pro, meaning introducing white ones and other color options as well. But I definitely go for the MATTE black ones. Specs are not leaked yet? XM4s have to be water proof.
ReplyDeleteI like the white! Great mock up and I could see it being quite popular but personally would def get the matte black pair.
ReplyDeleteNo.
ReplyDeleteWhite may show off dirt much more easily than white (only good if you’re cleaning), however anyone older than 30yrs and with darker skin - your ear hair will not only stand our more but will JUMP out to anyone passing your by or speaking to you with these in.
That is THE one thing I hate MOST of my AirPods Pro and about every Apple headphone product ever released.
fair enough, white will be difficult to keep clean especially if the earbuds will not come with a IPX rating.
DeleteI avoid any white/light colored accessories especially those that often comes into skin contact. From countless experiences, the color (white especially) tends to turn yellowish after a while. Also, Sony, like many manufacturers these days, like to use those rubbery textured plastic eg like in the present WF-1000XM3. I owned the silver/beige one which even after handling with care, the case got discolored - should have got it in black. These fake rubber-textured material may look and feel premium but they don't last at all.
