Sony Teases New LinkBuds Models (update 2)
Sony has put up a teaser for their new upcoming LinkBuds models, the Open and Fit. The reveal is on October 1st at 09:00 PST. We can see from the teaser that both models will debut, the Open (top left) and the Fit (bottom right). I am embedding the stream below.
Here are the times for other areas:
- New York - October 1st - 12:00
- London UK - October 1st - 17:00
- Berlin - October 1st - 18:00
- New Delhi - October 1st - 21:30
- Hong Kong - October 2nd - 00:00
- Tokyo - October 2nd - 01:00
- Seoul - October 2nd - 01:00
- Melbourne - October 2nd - 02:00
Sony Japan will have their own press conference/reveal on October 2nd 10:00 JST for their domestic audience.
Update 2: Seeing some retail listings, no photos yet, but I see 3 colours for one of the LinkBuds models. When I say one, I mean, it shows 2 different model names, so not sure which one it is for. Regardless, I am seeing black, white and violet.
Update: Just received some new details. The object in the middle of the photo is not the Instagram logo as I assumed, but in fact some kind of speaker. The earbuds can be placed inside this speaker which can obviously play music. Taking out the earbuds, the music switches to the earbuds. I guess this could be auracast tech at play.
If we take the photo and play around with the colours, we can see some more details and the two new earbud models.
#1 is the circular driver area of the new LinkBuds Open, #2 is what I suspect either to be a rubber attachment for better fit or a moulded part of the earbud. And #3 looks to be the rubber tip seen from the reverse side. Like in the photo below.
The hashtags do not offer any more information. I am wondering if the new Sound Connect app will also debut during the reveal as well.
Expecting some leaks but so far nothing.
Thanks for the exciting update on Sony's upcoming LinkBuds models! The combination of the Open and Fit models, along with the intriguing speaker feature, sounds like a game-changer in the audio world. I’m really curious to see how this new tech, possibly powered by Auracast, enhances the listening experience. The seamless transition between speaker and earbuds is a cool concept, and I can't wait to learn more during the October 1st reveal.
