Sony WF-C710N Leak (Update)
A well trusted source has provided me with some photos of the new WF-C710N, along with new additional details. We already had the design leak thanks to a Taiwanese certification, but now we get to see the new model in much more clearer detail. All 4 colours, black, white, pink, and glass blue, which is the transparent colour.
The rest of the details include a late May availability with a price around $110 to $120 USD. Apart from the ANC, there will be two ambient sound modes, Normal and Voice. Quick attention will also make its way to the WF-C710N. Finally the noise cancellation is dual NC, so 2 NC mics, feedback and feedforward. This should greatly increase the ANC performance.
From the photos of the glass blue, it looks like we will have a touch sensor and no physical button. In my opinion, the WF-C710N feels more like a better successor to the LinkBuds S than the LinkBuds Fit are.

Finally, here is a size comparison between the WF-C710N, WF-C700N and WF-C510. I have used the size of the tips as a basis for comparison. The new model looks to be slightly larger in size than the old one, but this is to be expect if it has dual NC mics and possibly a larger battery.
Poor codec support, Sony should do better for that price because competition does. I will stick to my Linkbuds S for now.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Sony should at least include LC3 to make them future proof. LDAC could easily be added with a firmware update, and Sony should seriously consider doing that. There is always a chance my source details are lacking some information but they have been spot on in the past, so I believe them when they said no LDAC.
DeleteDoesn't matter. Those y2K clear plastics!!!
DeleteI get around 8 hours (NC off) with my WF-700CN, so getting 12 hours now with it off and 8 hours with NC on is a well needed improvement. I also like the transparent Y2K design but the (supposedly) bigger size and lack of wireless charging is dissapointing.
