Sony WF-C700N Pairing a Replacement Earbud
If you lost an earbud or one stopped working, this guide by Ooh_Jim from reddit will let you pair a replacement earbud, with your existing case.
Step 1
Place both earbuds inside the case and recharge them fully. The replacement earbud should recharge without any issues.
Step 2
Factory reset both earbuds individually. Place the left earbud into the case, keep the lid open. Next press and hold the button on the back of the case for 15 seconds. The LED on the case will begin to flash, and once it stops flashing, release the button.
Repeat the same procedure for the right earbud.
Step 3
Next place both earbuds inside the case, keep the lid open. Press and hold the button on the back. After a short while the LED will start to flash blue. When the LED begins blinking orange, release the button. The LED should turn green if the pairing has been successful.
If the LED does not turn green, repeat step 3 again.
Step 4
Unpair and forget the earbuds from any devices like phones or computers. Next re-pair the earbuds once again with your devices. Click the desired platform instructions below.

There is a chance the pairing may not work if the firmware versions are different for each earbud. I did read a reply on reddit from a WF-1000XM4 user, who paired 2 earbuds on different firmware versions. The earbuds did pair but there was an issue, any future firmware updates through the Sony Connect app failed.
I can think of a possible workaround for this problem, MDR Proxy. While untested, perhaps trying to downgrade or upgrade the firmware using the app could work, but I have not seen anyone do it. I also asked MrWalkman (MDR Proxy creator) about this, and they were unsure if it would be possible.
So if anyone was able to pair earbuds on different firmware versions, can you please test to see if upgrading the firmware through MDR Proxy is possible. Thanks.
If anyone encounters any issues, please post them in the comments.
I am currently testing out the WF-C710N earbuds and will compare them to the WF-C700N for my review for those interested.
