Sony WF-1000XM6 Firmware Update, version 1.5.0
Sony has released an firmware update for the new WF-1000XM6. I suspect only reviewers have their hands on them, but users should be receiving them next week in most regions.
The update brings few changes.
Benefits and Improvements
- Adds French, German, and Spanish to the Voice Control supported languages
- Improves overall functionality
Again, the last point is kind of vague, so unknown really what is being addressed specifically. Make sure the earbud and phone are fully charged before updating.
Not impressed with a lot of the mx5 vs mx6 comparisons, especially with mic quality. Airpods sound miles better. I'm hoping it'll improve with more software updates!
ReplyDeleteI got my xm6 in on saturday, ordered Friday. To me they aren't much of a jump up from xm5. While I waited for them over the last year, I tried AZ100, Pi8 and AirPods Pro 3 and as someone who has had the first wf-1000x all the way to the recent one, I feel like they have finally hit a wall. I much prefer the sound of the other three I mentioned. Oh well, at least hopefully there might be some new Walkmans this year maybe?!

DeletePaired through LDAC with a Sonys NW707 walkman, they sound close to wired high end IERs by Sony, unbelievable. I am so glad to finally receive superb quality through Bluetooth.
ReplyDeleteI use them with my Sony phone, trough LDAC as well, they sound incredible. Feels like a massive jump in sound quality.

ReplyDeleteCould it be that the ANC with Firmware 1.5.0 is broken? After updating ANC is basically not working I can hear most of the surrounding Noise in Public Transport while ANC is in 100%.
ReplyDeletehave you tried a factory reset? are other users experiencing this? because not seeing wide spread reports of such issues yet.
DeleteYeah Factory Reset did not help. On Reddit other People are complaing about that to. With Version 1.2.0 everything worked perfect
