Sony releases Smoky Pink Colour for 1000X Series

I saw this earlier on Twitter and thought it was just a special edition with some artist, so I thought nothing of it. But it is a new colour and quite late in the life cycle. Obviously the new colour is to spur sales, but a small price drop to the regular retail price would also be very beneficial in my opinion.

I like the new colour, not in your face pink, but a nice dark shade. Being a lighter colour, it will pick up stains easily. So be careful with various hair dyes, make up, or even moisturizers around the areas where the headphones touch.

I only see the headset on Amazon.co.uk, but it is priced at 300 GBP, so a premium over the other colours. I say a while, so more retailers stock them and the price settles down.

One interesting piece of tid bit from the press release and the product pages is Sony pushing the 1000X Series model name a lot more now. I know they used it in the past but it seems to be getting more attention this time around.

Update: For those curious, yes the new colour will be available in the US, ship dates of around middle of October. With the WF-1000XM5 slated for around the end of October.
