Sony WH-1000XM5 Firmware update version 2.0.2
The WH-1000XM5 firmware has been updated to version 2.0.0. The update finally brings LDAC support during multipoint use. Here are all the changes in this update:
- Makes LDAC available during a multipoint connection
- Apps that can be linked have been added
- Adds support for Head Tracking
The head tracking might bring gesture support like the WF-1000XM5 but this is just a guess. The LDAC multipoint support is a big deal as many users have been asking for this.
I am not sure I will be updating just yet, I do use the multipoint, or need head tracking. I do not even use any linked apps. Will see what users post on reddit before making a final decision.
As with all updates, make sure your headset and phone are fully charged before updating.

I'm considering buying the WH-1000XM5. I'm wondering if head tracking will work on an iOS device like the Airpods Max and if not, will it be followed up?
